Lesaffre has been committed to working with nature to build a healthier future for more than 170 years.
We are present in many countries where populations face difficulties in terms of health, nutrition, food, the environment and education.
Thanks to our global presence and strong local roots, we have the proximity we need to pursue our mission and commitment to solidarity, by supporting associations working for the economic and social development of local communities.
Every year, we carry out between 50 and 60 solidarity projects around the world, representing more than 250 actions since ECHO was founded in 2019. We are proud of the strong and sincere commitment of many of our collaborators to the humanitarian values that unite us.

In recognition of World Cleanup Day, employees from various locations across the UK participated in a litter-picking event near our Worcester site, successfully collecting 11 bags of litter. This initiative demonstrated our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and encouraged collaboration among team members nationwide. The event not only improved the cleanliness of a local parkland area but also strengthened our sense of community and shared purpose within the organisation.
We are proud to partner with Too Good To Go, a global initiative dedicated to combating food waste by connecting bakeries with consumers to redistribute surplus goods. Through this collaboration, we are able to ensure that unsold baked products are put to good use rather than being wasted, thereby reducing our environmental footprint and supporting local communities. In 2022, Too Good To Go successfully saved 79 million meals, and we are excited to continue contributing to this impactful initiative.
In the winter of 2024, our dedicated employees came together to donate to a clothes bank as part of our annual Spring Clean initiative. These contributions supported; KEMP Hospice, helping to stock their charity shops, which play a crucial role in funding their palliative care services. Donations like these reflect our broader mission to give back to the community, particularly during times when support is needed most. We are proud to stand with KEMP Hospice in their compassionate work, knowing that every contribution makes a meaningful difference to those in need.
Through two generous donations, our team collected a remarkable 143.87kg of food, offering essential relief to local food banks at a time of urgent need. The food bank, which serves approximately 100 people each week, expressed heartfelt gratitude, sharing that they often must purchase food themselves to meet the growing demand.
Our contributions helped alleviate this strain and directly supported families struggling with food insecurity, ensuring that children in the community received nutritious food packages during the summer holidays. Together, we made a meaningful impact, providing hope and nourishment to those who need it most.
Lesaffre UK & Ireland is deeply committed to the principles of the ECHO program, Empowering Change, Health, Education and Optimism. Each initiative we undertake is a step toward fulfilling our mission to better nourish and protect the planet, ensuring a positive impact on both the environment and the communities we serve. Together, through these actions, we are proud to contribute to a sustainable future.
